Vuokrakaista provides furnished project accommodation in Varkaus for companies, contractors and industrial work crews. We house anyone from a single technician to project teams of more than 100 people – in 50 ready-furnished apartments.
Our apartments are permanently furnished and equipped – they are not put together temporarily for the duration of a project. That is why the standard is the same in every apartment: hotel-grade beds and bedding, a kitchen or cooking facilities, Wi-Fi, laundry access, and professional cleaning after every guest. Final cleaning and parking are always included in the price – our yards fit vans and larger vehicles too.
The properties are located in central Varkaus and close to the Stora Enso mill. The Varkaus data centre site (APL, Luttila) is about a 5-minute drive (3–4 km) from our Korpela property, and the Huutokoski data centre site in Joroinen (Arcem) is under 20 minutes from Varkaus. Larger crews can be housed across several properties under the same service and invoicing, and changes in headcount and extensions are handled flexibly during the project.
APL is building a data centre in Luttila, Varkaus, with the first phase due in 2027. In Huutokoski, Joroinen, Arcem is developing a data centre campus with a first phase of 60 MW in 2027 and up to 500 MW in total. Both sites are under 20 minutes from all our Varkaus properties, and we already house people working on both.
The need grows in phases, from earthworks to structural work and technical installation. We add and release apartments as the phases change, long stays move to monthly pricing, and a contractor's rotating workers use the same apartments without a new contract round.
When the job sites are spread across Savo and eastern Finland, the crew needs one base to drive to the day's site from, instead of changing accommodation every week. Varkaus sits in the middle: Joroinen, Leppävirta, Kangaslampi and Pieksämäki are under 40 minutes away, Heinävesi under an hour, and Kuopio, Mikkeli, Savonlinna and Joensuu under two hours. The monthly rate stays the same when the site changes, vans and trailers stay in the yard, the door codes stay the same for the whole project, and the whole crew lives in the same property. In the evening you can sit on the terrace and go through the next day's work.

Vuokrakaista’s Korpela property (Savontie 9) is located in the immediate vicinity of the Stora Enso Varkaus mill. Vanha Postitalo (Wahlinkatu 8) and Pankkitalo (Ahlströminkatu 20) are in central Varkaus, a few minutes’ drive from the mill. All properties have free parking, including for vans.
Yes. The Luttila data centre site is about a 5-minute drive (3–4 km) from Vuokrakaista’s Korpela property. We house both individual technicians and large contractor crews, and the accommodation can be scaled up or down as the phases of the site change.
Vuokrakaista’s furnished apartments are designed for work assignments lasting weeks, months or even years. The apartments have a kitchen or cooking facilities, a bathroom, Wi-Fi and laundry access. Interim cleaning and linen change are available as an extra service as agreed, for example every two weeks. Stays can be extended flexibly if the project runs longer than planned.
Yes. A crew can be placed in one or several properties, and the number of apartments is increased or reduced as headcount changes. For example, one long industrial project started with one apartment and grew to nine over two years. Everything runs through the same contact person and the same invoicing.
You can call us, send a quote request or book directly in the booking engine. For work crews we usually send a quote within an hour. In the booking engine you can request invoicing when you book. Once invoicing has been opened, your company can make future bookings directly with company invoicing, and consolidated invoicing is also available. For the duration of the project you get your own contact person. Changes, extensions and additional people are handled by WhatsApp, phone or email. We also arrange short-term accommodation during the project, for example for specialists visiting the site.
A furnished apartment is often the most affordable option in Varkaus when the stay lasts weeks or months or when a crew shares an apartment. Vuokrakaista’s price depends on the property, the length of stay, the season and the number of people per apartment. A longer stay and more people sharing an apartment lower the price per person. The price always includes furnishings, hotel-grade beds, linen, Wi-Fi, parking and final cleaning. You can see daily prices directly in the booking engine, and for work crews we usually send a quote within an hour.
A holiday cabin is designed for leisure, and a hotel suits a stay of a few nights. For a work assignment lasting weeks or months, a furnished apartment is often the most practical choice: your own kitchen, laundry, year-round heating and Wi-Fi, a location close to the work sites and invoicing to the company. On longer stays an apartment is usually also clearly more affordable than a hotel, because the price falls with the length of stay and the number of people, and you can cook your own meals.
The price always includes full furnishings, hotel-grade beds and bedding with the beds made on arrival, towels, Wi-Fi, water, electricity, heating, parking and final cleaning. A professional cleaner cleans the apartment after every guest. Kitchens have dishes and cooking utensils. Some rooms at Vanha Postitalo have a shared kitchen.
Parking is always free. Our yards also fit vans and larger work vehicles.
Vanha Postitalo and Korpela have code locks. The code is sent to the guest before arrival, so you can get in at any time without collecting keys. Keys for Pankkitalo are collected from Vanha Postitalo next door.
At its shortest two nights, when apartments are available in the coming days. For large groups and bookings far in the future the minimum stay is longer and agreed case by case. The booking engine shows directly which dates can be booked. A typical stay lasts from a few weeks to several months, at the longest years.
Yes. From Varkaus it is 20 minutes to Joroinen, 25 to Leppävirta, 35 to Pieksämäki, 50 to Heinävesi, just over an hour to Kuopio and Mikkeli, an hour and a half to Savonlinna and under two hours to Joensuu. The crew keeps one base for the whole project, the monthly rate stays the same when the site changes, and the number of apartments can change with the phases.
